- I specifically searched my telegram about that word because I had remembered that conversation in passing

- I had no idea what it was and nobody else did either

- As mentioned the domain was registered in 4/16 so it's 18 months old at best.

- I think it said the land speed made that room in February

- So it's at least 2 months older than that

- True, I've should have said at least 18 months odl, sorry

- No worries it's just something I remember seeing

- the same res have been hunting guardians for years here. if the Brokers' Guild is only 18 months old, i suspect it's a new front-end gui for the same DB they've always used

- Yes. Evolution of a thing

- As others have brought up, I'm amazed nobody has blown this thing up before. 600 people?

- there was a period of a month or two when a bunch of our players got onyx guardian, myself included. i suspect niantic changed something during that period, and the coders had to catch up

- Their greatest weakness was building a singular place for everyone. Not unlike the Death Star

- maybe it wasn't even that long

- I remember that explicitly there was a certain window in which a whole bunch of people got it

- The more I sit and think about it, with the militaristic top-down approach that the New York City New Jersey resistance employ, I wouldn't be surprised if all you see from my area is leadership if they're in there at all

- That's fairly Resistance-style.

- Our PNW scraper was a wider base.

- Ok, so I know that the whistle blower is compelled my moral compunction. I am not so much. Ive played this game at a disadvantage long enough and put up with it, I've earned the right to say without the slightest waiver that I want to maximize the damage this does.

Fuck those fucking assholes and all their asshole fiends.

- All of my local flips told me they were reached out to by high level Res to kill my guardians. So I would also guess there are not as many "rank and file" players in any hunting slack

- We can reasonably speculate that they only kept this thing a secret for so long by having a very careful vetting process.

- we can do both. At least I don't see a reason we can't

- It took them a long time to fuck up, so they probably had a pretty good system for weeding out unreliable contributors.

- That's going to speak to a certain amount of seniority among the user base. Might not necessarily all be play drivers, but they're going to be people that have been around long enough to become known and trusted.

- Which may take longer on their team than ours

- Right now I think any assumptions will make intelligence evaluation harder.

- true. The waiting is the hardest part.

- Yeah.

- Lots of things I would like to see.

- All I know is my anticipation is forcing me to plow through an entire bag of Sour Patch Kids

- God help your tongue.

- ๐Ÿ˜‚

- Maybe he has a stronger tongue than most men... a Super Tongue as it were.

- TWSS

- Can you lick the crumbs out of the bottom of a Pringles can?

- I would expect individual RES to deny the accusation by saying there are other purposes for that Slack. We need smoking gun evidence to show who is in the actual chats where the cheating is occurring.

- Someone is going to need to go through these grabs and remove the header and footer from them

- the room #bot has one purpose and one purpose only, and there are six hundred people in it

- there will be lot sof captures of specific people making requessts and being served scraped information.

- Tasty

- The most recent the better if we can match that up to a scanner screen shot of the hit contemporaneous with the request.

- That would be awesome. Or get direct agent testimonial about how they setup that guardian.

- Make it impactful on the G+

- Itโ€™s important to tie the request for information to the action on it.

- I'll change my password to 8 word length

- We should scrape Comm to find the actions. ๐Ÿ˜‚

- Also will verify its at least college level reading

- Iโ€™ll set up my phone to screen shot every minute!

- Like, we see they scraped agent xyz. We look for the comm data that it got hit and go to that person, say hey I heard your guardian got hit. We are working on a thing about guardian hunting would you tell us a bit of the story about it.

- Then post all the data together.

- I think it has to be recent enough so that itโ€™s still in the scanner backlog.

- Bio of a hit

- More realistically, attack notification emails.

- If you drill down close enough on stock Intel to a portal you can get pretty far back on the Intel history for that portal. We might be able to find them without actually having screenshots

- Right.

- That's how I've gotten screencaps of stuff that flew through my alerts and I didn't get a screenshot of

- Yes for sure if theyโ€™re turned on. Might find them in Outgress if youโ€™re not opposed to that.

- I bet I can find them a week back

- Maybe more

- Huh it never occurred to me that people would turn those off.

- I turned it off hours after starting then turned it back on to fool around with Outgress.

- I just filter the emails and don't read them, but then can search them.

- I forward them to out Gress but then they are automatically deleted

- #zeroinbox

- we could test that with the one proof of concept shot she sent us.

- If we know where those portals are

- I can find them

- Give me a few mins

- the one example isn't a great candidate. the oldest port was 46 days

- Lol I imagine him searching Google for bike portal LOL

- I'm not. If you were taught this was normative from the moment you started, including "everyone does it," and "it's part of the game," why would it blow up?

- That seems to be the lukewarm response we got.

- Geez that was an interesting long backlog.

- It's hard to recruit 600 bodies without getting at least one crusader.

- You've got at least one now. ๐Ÿ˜‚

- Don't blink it is still accumulating

- I would doubt the existence of that Slack is known two people until they already do a bunch of hits

- It is also clearly the case that the Enl bad actors in the world poison the well.

- Oh I know

- This is reasonable. Also I think attempting to use this to our strategic advantage could backfire MASSIVELY. Especially considering all it would take is a solid spin campaign or the whistle having gamed us all to burn a lot of reputations. We've (mostly all you, I'm just a fly on the wall anymore) worked hard to build community and facilitate fair play collectively in our own little areas of the Ingress Sphere of weirdness. This seems like a great opportunity for a smear campaign against us.

My biggest question as I read through the scroll back is more focused on how trust worthy our whistle is and why this is just now being blown. Who benefits the most from this all falling into the public space?

Also we have precious little time so sorry for the necro.

- At that point their hands are already dirty

- One of the screenshots with omgkitties...I believe he's a tx res

- Yeah, I wouldn't want to risk moving this too close to anomaly -- the backlash will take place after the release

- I like the idea of finding evidence of enl as well. It definitely deflates the "you do it too" argument but it also comes with it's own risks

- I'd encourage you to embrace occam's razor with regard to trustworthiness.

- I picked a hell of a time to just be going out on a two-week Cruise

- What's easier to imagine? A bent person flipping infosec allegiance, or a bent person carefully collecting, photoshopping and curating false or misleading intel.

- Occam's razor

- Ain't nobody got time for that. But each of us can probably name off pissed off folks that had access to our chats and have used secure information against us after flipping (looking at you, Itso.)

- This discussion is so impressive, but i am going with sourpatch kids as "happy i scrolled all that back moment"

- Today I learned that after 10 Sour Patch Kids, your tongue really starts to hurt

- I will wait to see the member list. I think being paranoid right now is a good thing. It keeps us from running with it and makes sure we get as much information as possible before acting

- Have you tried kiwis?

- I will take that bet

- The only kiwi I know is the fruit or someone from New Zealand

- Yeah if you eat enough kiwis your mouth starts to dissolve, it's great. Also pineapple.

- That's weak

- I'm actually very new to Sour Patch Kids. Might be my third bag ever

- This is not great. This is the opposite of great.

- That explains it

- You are probably correct.
