On this point, Niantic already knows the Nashville PoCs have access to scrapers. They've been reported for their GH behavior by more than one of us. Hell, I had one admit to coming to kill my oldest portals. I said all that to say, that it needs to be more than just a few.
If this isn't as massive as anticipated, and we don't release this the right way, we're going to end up just looking like we're butt hurt over not getting guardians. To be honest, I don't really think Res orga will be disrupted, or even care, that this is released. I've seen too many BRRN agents *actually pull up scraped data* using their bot in ResVue.

Again, I caution against our approaching this as "Look! Here's proof they guardian hunt!"
We know they do, what's important to demonstrate in the post is HOW they are doing it. There is nothing in the ToS that says you can't hunt. There IS something there that says you can't scrape data. THAT is how we should approach this.
I would suggest keeping the two crusades separate. It'll have greater impact with the larger community. Just my $0.02 on that part.
- Nadia Amro Furthermore, the argument can be made that what we're looking at isn't "exactly" scraped data. What we are seeing is a slack channel that has access to a bot, that has access to a database. No one in that chat can be proven to have scraped. Just that they queried a db. Now, logic would dictate that the db is compiled using scraped data, but the members of that chat can technically say they had no idea how the info arrived, just that they had access. Plausible deniability. Is the reveal still embarrassing? Yes. But unfortunately, being an idiot isn't against ToS.

You're entitled to this opinion. I'm just making people very aware of what will be said. How do I know this? Because it's what I was told when I asked a Res agent how they came by that info.
Apparently, I have to keep reminding people of this:
It's not what you KNOW, it's what you can PROVE.
There's an attorney in here. Ask her. @AnAmerican_BNA .

Some thoughts on it:
1) The Niantic dev: I have a weird suspicion on this. Hear my weird ass out....I think maybe he's supposed to be in there. If you're trying to figure out what people are doing to get into your data, what better way to do it? But that's just a possible thought. I truly don't know.
2) While under my current contract and NDA, I am limited in certain respects. So I'll be assisting the broadcast of this message from behind the scenes.
3) I think it's good that Andrew was informed and not blind sided. I think it validates what is about to happen as a revelation of truth and fact, instead of a blitz attack on the Res. I know some may want to politicize this, but I think doing so will dilute the impact. The data compiled can stand on its own. By not using the information as a weapon, we put ourselves in a more defensible position. "We're not out to destroy the core Resistance. We want to effect change and reveal the tools being used to negatively impact the game."
4) I agree that personal info shouldn't be released. I'll delete names I added if someone else hasn't already.
5) I had something for this but now I don't remember.
6) I already have a target on my back, for many reasons, from both Res and Enl. Not the least of which is my current assignment with Niantic. As such, I choose not to give anyone a bigger one. With that said, I do not wish to engage the WB
7) The site looks good Erich. Thank you for your hard work.

- Nadia Amro It's enough to cause embarrassment to some, bans for others, and no particular change for yet even more. We've given Andrew info, yes, but he NEEDS a way to validate it. People can keep ignoring this point all they want to, but it's still a factor. I thought the intent here was to effect change, not just to "out" that Res are using scrapers. If the only intent of this was to get the dev fired, the Vanguards let go, and some PoCs on the hot sheet, then we're not going to effect change in the overall game mechanics.

- Nadia Amro Either way, it was bound to come out. It hasn't been detrimental to me, nor do I anticipate it being so. Andrew is aware of my involvement and I don't think I've done anything wrong in helping make this happen. I have not posted anything "publicly", and I have not commented anywhere. That satisfies the terms of my contract.
