I think it's bad that Niantic hasn't shut down Outgress.

Not high on my list but yeah, it's on the list of services I am hoping will be shut down as a result.

Outgress is powered one user at a time. If you want it killed, I think you do a mass media campaign to stop forwards

I think niantic's only fix to outgress is to stop email alerts completely.

It's not whether Outgress exists. It's the fact that NIA hasn't even made a statement about it

Outgress also charges money for their services, which is maybe easier for Niantic to shut down. But not my top priority this weekend.

NIantic could fairly easily shut down Outgress in 24 hours; they're charging for access. Clear TOS violation, but yes. Not top priority.

I've never actually looked into outgress. I heard people complain about how inaccurate it is and it seemed more irritating than helpful. I notice when I Google names from the list, one of the things that pops up on the results every time is an outgress link tho

From my basic using/understanding of it is that it only uses what it gets from the email notifications of portals attacked. From those it creates a heatmap of activity of agents.

Correct. It relies on attack notification emails being forwarded, and can only report based on that information.
